Alex was the winner of the Services to the Community Award and also received the Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, Alex was also a finalist in another category.

The Awards go some way to recognising the amazing amount of effort that Alex puts into helping charities and other worthy causes around the town. Among the many organisations to benefit from Alex's work are Crucial Crew, the Fairtrade Forum, the NSPCC and Stevenage Community Trust.

Alex said, "I was a bit overwhelmed on the evening as I hadn't expected to win anything. It is very nice to have your efforts rewarded in this way and I would like to thank those people who nominated me."
